Marisa L. Kautz was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She joined the firm of Granowitz, White and Weber in 2007. She received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of La Verne School of Law, also in 2007. She was admitted to practice in the State of California in 2007. Ms Kautz received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Riverside in 2004, majoring in Psychology. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the San Bernardino County Bar Association and the Joseph B. Campbell American Inn of the American Inns of Court. While in law school, Ms. Kautz served as a senior staff writer of the La Verne Law Review from 2005 to 2006, and then served as Editor-in-Chief of the publication from 2006 to 2007. She has authored numerous articles, including the issue of GPS monitoring of pedophiles, which has also been cited by the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review (2008) and the Nevada Law Journal (2008). Additional articles addressed the issues of neglected and abused children as well as juvenile dependency. She also served as a volunteer at the Pomona Branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court Self Help Clinic.
Ms. Kautz is an avid equestrian, and has been a member of the Friesian Horse Association of North America and the United States Equestrian Foundation.
